APM Hexseal develops and manufactures sealing solutions to protect and prolong the life of electro-mechanical switches and circuit breakers. Furthermore, APM Hexseal designed their sealing boots to protect switches from adverse environments without compromising, or interfering with, their operation.
SEALING BOOTS
Unsealed switches are internally susceptible to damage. Before long, they can short from water, at risk to lubricants, dust, dirt, sand, salt spray, corrosive atmospheres, and other damaging contaminants. Even factory sealed switch function is susceptible to ice and dust build-up. And all switch panel mounting cut-outs are vulnerable to contaminant seepage including spilled soft drinks, coffee. APM Hexseal’s UL-recognised HEXSEAL® and E-SEEL® sealing boots supply complete and reliable, cost effective, long-term protection.
APM Hexseal has worked closely with switch and circuit breaker manufacturers, plus users for more than 60 years. Before long, APM Hexseal developed an extensive line of tough, pliant silicone rubber panel seals that function harmoniously with the switch’s manual and automatic operation and position status viewing. Other materials are available for specific environments.
The panel seals are UL 50 tested and recognised. In fact, installing an APM HEXSEAL boot is the most effective and least expensive way to protect and guard against failures.
SEALING HARDWARE
APM Hexseal invented and patented pre-assembled self-sealing fasteners designed to supply both fastening and sealing integrity in a single unit. The design features a resilient o-ring held captive in a precision engineered groove under the fastener head. This combination of precise groove geometry and o-ring characteristics results in an absolute seal, while still supplying full metal to metal contact. Vibration resistant and reusable, SEELSKREWS®, SEELBOLTS®, and SEELRIVETS® can withstand internal/external pressures up to 20,000 psig / vacuum at temperatures from -160°F to +500°F (-106°C to +260°C).
Ultimately, a superior sealing is achieved as an alternative to sealing compounds, tape, chemical coatings, and deformable washers.
